saberio is a marketplace where you can sell handmade home, lifestyle, and gift products to buyers around the world. Please read further to find out about your rights and what is expected of you as a seller.
What can be sold on saberio?
saberio is a special kind of place where small brands, artists, artisans, and independent design studios can showcase the results of their passion and hard work. This means handcrafted items, one of a kind pieces or small series of beautiful interior decor, fashion, lifestyle, and gift products with original designs. In this category we also include personalized or made to order items.
As a seller on saberio.com you agree that:
- all items are designed by you
- you are using accurate photographs of the items you sell
- if you are selling made to order or personalized items you made them available to sell at a set price
- for the made to order or personalized items you make clear that the photos shown are from previous works and are shown as examples
We consider it helpful for the buyers, and therefore we encourage you to do so, to specify the origin of the materials used to create the item you sell and the country of production of the item. It is appreciated to know if the materials you use are organic or if you’re using recycled materials (or any other attributes that make your product environmentally friendly).
Please note that saberio may remove any listings that violate our policies. Listing fees are non refundable. saberio may also suspend or terminate your account for any violations.
We expect our sellers to accurately represent their business and the items they sell. This includes:
- an accurate representation in the About section of the seller’s shop
- a clear and detailed explanation of their Shop Policy that includes accurate processing times, delivery times, and clear return policies. We expect the sellers to commit to their Shop Policy.
- a clear and detailed description of their products
- accurate photos of the products they are listing
- respect for intellectual property of others (use your own designs for the products you are selling)
Content created and uploaded by the seller
As a member of saberio, you have the opportunity to create and upload a variety of content, like products descriptions, photos, videos, answers to reviews, and messages to customers. In order to keep our community safe and respectful, you agree that you will not upload content that is:
- Abusive, threatening, defamatory, discriminatory or harassing;
- Obscene or vulgar;
- In violation of someone else’s privacy or intellectual property rights;
- False, deceptive, or misleading.
As a seller, you are expected to provide not only great quality products but also an outstanding customer service. By selling on saberio, you agree to:
- Commit to your shipping and processing times. Sellers are obligated to ship an item or otherwise complete a transaction with a buyer in a prompt manner, unless there is an exceptional circumstance.
- Respond to Messages in a timely manner.
- Respect the commitments you make in your shop policies.
- Resolve disagreements or disputes directly with the buyer. In the unlikely event that you can’t reach a resolution, our Dispute Resolution team can help you.
- If you are unable to complete an order, you must notify the buyer and cancel the order.
To help you with this, we provide you with a shop dashboard where you can see all the up-to-date info related to the status of the orders for your shop.
You will also have access to an internal messaging system that will allow you to communicate with the buyer in a timely manner.
Cancellations, Returns, and Exchanges
Buyers in the European Union (EU) may be entitled to a 14-day “right of withdrawal” after receiving an item, during which they may return an item for any reason. The details of this right vary by EU member state. The right of withdrawal does not apply to custom items or certain perishable goods.
If you are unable to complete a transaction, you must notify the buyer via saberio’s Messages and cancel the transaction.
We ask buyers to contact sellers directly and attempt to resolve any outstanding issues before opening a case on saberio. For this reason, it is important that you fill out your shop policies and regularly respond to Messages from your buyers.
Buyers may file a request for assistance for a non-delivery or a not-as-described item. You must respond to any open cases within three days.
By using saberio’s request for assistance system, you understand that saberio may use your personal information for the purpose of resolving disputes with other members.
Seller Membership Levels
There are two membership levels: Lite and Premium. Depending on the number of products you want to list, they offer you a series of advantages described in more detail in the Seller Membership page. You will also benefit from a 15 day trial period for each one of the two membership levels.
Sellers may be charged for using some of the services we offer on the platform. Your fees depend on the seller membership level chosen.
The subscription fee is a recurring fee payable every month. It helps us maintain you shop and offer your buyers the best online experience. We also offer you a series of benefits like the possibility to create content to promote your store, feature one or more of your products on saberio’s main page, offer your buyers coupons & discounts to increase sales, etc.
Subscription fees are due on the same day every month in your domestic currency. You can cancel your subscription at any time. Your subscription will still be valid until the end of the current month. After that, your shop will become inactive and will not be visible to buyers until you renew your subscription.
When you make a sale through saberio.com, you will be charged a transaction fee of 7-5% (based on your membership level) of the price you display for each listing plus the amount you charge for shipping.
saberio’s payments system enables sellers to receive payments in their currencies while using saberio’s services. When setting up a shop you will register for saberio’s payments and connect your Stripe account to the platform (a step by step guide is provided).
Sellers need a Stripe account to receive payments. Sellers can accept payment via credit card.
Full payment minus transaction fee (the level of which depends on the membership level of the seller) will be transferred to the sellers account 14 days (the “right of withdrawal” duration in EU) after the order is received by the buyer.
You are responsible for collecting and paying any taxes associated with using and making sales through saberio’s platform.
Any action by a seller to avoid paying a fee is considered fee avoidance and is strictly prohibited. This includes, for example, encouraging buyers to purchase an item in your saberio shop through another venue. A transaction initiated on saberio.com may not be completed off of the platform. The price stated in each listing description must be an accurate representation of the sale. Sellers may not alter the item’s price after a sale for the purpose of avoiding saberio’s transaction fees, misrepresent the item’s location, or use another user’s account without permission.
Privacy and Personal Data Protection
In particular, when you sell using our Services (subject to this Policy) you may receive and determine what to do with certain personal information, such as when entering into transactions with buyers. This means you process personal information (for example, buyer name, email address, and shipping address) and, to the extent you do so, under EU law, you are an independent controller of data relating to other users that you may have obtained through the Services.
As a data controller (that is someone who decides what personal data is collected and the purpose you’ll use the data for) to the extent that you process user personal information outside of saberio.com, you may be required under applicable data protection and privacy laws to honor requests received from such users for data access, portability, correction, deletion, and objections to processing.
Also, if you disclose personal information without the buyer’s proper consent, you are responsible for that unauthorized disclosure. This includes, for example, disclosures you make or unintentional data breaches. For example, you may receive a buyer’s email address or other information as a result of entering into a transaction with that buyer. This information may only be used for saberio-related communications or for saberio-facilitated transactions. You may not use this information for unsolicited commercial messages or unauthorized transactions.
Without the buyer’s consent, and subject to other applicable saberio policies and laws, you may not add any saberio member to your email or physical mailing list, use that buyer’s identity for marketing, or obtain or retain any payment information. Please bear in mind that you’re responsible for knowing the standard of consent required in any given instance.
If saberio and you are found to be joint data controllers of personal information, and if saberio is sued, fined, or otherwise incurs expenses because of something that you did in your capacity as a joint data controller of buyer personal information, you agree to indemnify saberio for the expenses it occurs in connection with your processing of buyer personal information.
